What is Fermented Plant Juice?
FPJ.. is... an organic ingredient made from plant materials, preferably from young leaf shoots... that thrives,... and are healthy... can be made as a fermented material... with the help of molasses or brown sugar. Molasses... or brown sugar... serves as a food source for beneficial microorganisms.... native microorganisms or IMO, this is what is in charge... breaking down plant materials and extracting the nutrients contained in the ingredients.
The alcohol produced... during fermentation will extract chlorophyll... and other components... such as.... growth hormone...
This fermentation process.... takes from 7 days... to a month. Simply put, we extract the nutrients... that are in the plant material so that we can use them as fertilizer.
Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ) is a fermented extract of chlorophyll and young shoots of plants such as axillary buds, leaves, grasses, young fruits and flowers. One important ingredient in producing FPJ is chlorophyll, a green molecule in plants that absorbs sunlight for photosynthesis. Consuming crops which are propagated using FPJ may help with blood detoxification, wound healing, immune system support, and cancer prevention.
This solution is rich in enzymes full of lactic acid and microorganisms like yeast. Through drenching the soil with the solution or by directly spraying it onto fruits and flowers, this fertilizer allows plants to improve their health and helps them grow vigorously.
In the Philippines, the most common plants used for this concoction are are water spinach or kangkong (Ipomoea aquatica), sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), and kakawate leaves (Gliricidia sepium). The plants mentioned are examples of fast developing plants with very active high-level growth hormones that helps improve any weaknesses that a plant may have.
Materials.....
1 kilogram of water spinach (Kang Kong)...
1 kilogram of camote tops (Talbos ng kamote)...
1 kilogram of banana trunk...
1 kilogram of molasses..
Any paper with porous surface (newspaper or cardboard)
Chopping board...
Empty pail or container (20 litre capacity)...
Empty bottles with lids...
Preparation....
1. Gather all the vegetables needed. Remove dirt from plants but do not wash them with water because it may eliminate useful microorganisms.
2.
Drain and dry the vegetables for
five minutes. Slice every plant to an inch in size.
3.
Mix all the vegetables with the
sliced banana trunk in a 20-liter container.
4.
Add the 1 kilogram of molasses and
mix them again thoroughly.
5.
Place a nylon screen on top of the
container and hold down with heavy weights.
6.
Cover the container with porous
paper to allow air to circulate then tie it shut with rubber band or thread.
7.
Label the mixture bearing the name
and date of fermentation.
8.
Keep it in a dark or shaded room for
7 days
9.
Open the mixture and extract the
liquid.
10.
Filter the liquid and keep it in the
bottle, but do not close the lid tightly. Loosen it to approximately one
complete twist of the cap.
11.
Completely close cap after a week or
when there are no more bubbles visible inside.
12.
The concoction is ready to use after
extraction.
Dosage...
Mix 2 tablespoons of FPJ with 1 liter of clean water. In severe cases, double the dosage if needed.
Application :
For plants, prepare the same dosage; spray it on the leaves and trunks of the plants 1 to 2 times a week.
For animals, mix it with drinking water using the same dosage above, 2 times a week. It can also be mixed with their feeds at the same frequency.
